The herbal supplement echinacea has been drafted in to help UK farmers combat the deadly foot and mouth disease, claims Organicts.com. New Zealand-bsed company Tauranga NZ Vitalife said it has exported its echinacea product to the UK to help boost animals’ immune systems.

According to the Food Navigator news site, several hundred kilogrammes of the dried products and about a hundred litres of the product in liquid form were exported. None of the farms which fed their animals the echinacea products had an outbreak of foot and mouth.
