The UK-based confectionery giant is to shutter the Trident site in El Prat de Llobregat as part of its global restructuring plans.
Some 156 workers will be affected by the move but Cadbury has agreed to give early retirement to workers aged over 50 – a package that will affect about 50 workers, according to Spanish reports.
As part of the provisional agreement, Cadbury has also said it would help the rest of the workforce find alternative employment.
Cadbury first announced its plans to close the facility in March, which led to a month of demonstrations by workers upset at the plans.

By GlobalDataCadbury declined to comment on the deal or on the closure until a full vote on the agreement, which will be held on Monday (25 May).
“Cadbury is unable to comment on this until the outcome of the vote is known and the final meetings have been concluded,” a spokesperson told just-food today.
