Donald Nordeng, president of Qai Japan, an eponymous subsidiary of the US organic organisation, said that there are still problems tracing cattle as they move around Japan. Furthermore, Nordeng was highly critical of the government’s control of cattle feed containing meat and bone meal (MBM). MBM has been tagged as the reason for Japan’s mad cow outbreak, and Nordeng believes proper controls on the potentially damaging feedstuff are inadequate.
