Unilever’s US ice cream business has announced the reintroduction of layered ice cream cake Viennetta in the country.

Described as both “affordable” and “elegant”, Unilever said the relaunch would appeal to families on a budget during the peak holiday season.

Viennetta was first launched in the UK in 1982 and made its way to the US in 1992, where it remained on sale until 2003.

It has a suggested retail price of under US$3 and is available in chocolate or vanilla.
