Dean Specialty Foods, a division of Dallas, Texas-based Dean Foods Company, has decided to close its plant in Adkins, Arkansas, 56 years after it started packing pickles. The company said in a news release: "Capacity rationalisation has resulted in consolidation of production, which is necessary in order to achieve the efficiencies needed to remain competitive in the market."
