Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson, chairman of Baugur UK, has joined the board of Iceland food stores in the UK as chairman.

Jóhannesson sits on the board of Mosaic Fashions in the UK, which is the parent company of seven design-led womenswear brands: Oasis, Warehouse, Principles, Karen Millen, Coast and Odille.

As a result of the appointment, Jón Ásgeir has resigned as chairman of Danish department stores Magasin Du Nord and Illum.
