UK grocery retailer The Co-operative Group is running a Christmas promotional campaign offering savings and give-aways it says are worth GBP200m (US$312.4m).
The chain said yesterday (30 November) that offers will include half-price Co-operative Truly Irresistible Brandy Butter Ice Cream, half-price roasting joints, half-price smoked salmon and king prawns, half-price Champagne and wine.

It will also offer discounts on branded products, as well as a range of coupons worth GBP50m.
Tim Hurrell, MD of the Co-op’s food retail business, said: “With financial pressures hitting household budgets this Christmas, customers are looking for even greater value quality food. With 3,000 stores Co-operative stores nationwide, we are best placed to deliver that.”
