Unilever has opened its latest “centre of excellence” for R&D with a site that focuses on “assembled foods”.
The Anglo-Dutch consumer goods group, which is in the process of creating a network of six centres, opened its newest facility in Cisterna, Italy yesterday (22 September).
The site, which will employ 50 people, will focus on developing products for brands including Flora, Bertolli and Findus.
Unilever’s six centres also take in structured emulsions, dry foods, liquid foods, ice foods and drinks.
Officials at Unilever could not be reached for further comment as just-food went to press.
