German retailer Metro Group is considering transferring hundreds of its accounting jobs offshore as part of moves to bundle roles in shared service centres.

A Metro Group spokesperson said today (25 October) the company is mulling whether to move up to 400 jobs abroad but that it would only be the case if all shared service centre jobs were transferred. However, he added, some jobs would remain on a “local level”.
