Deep South Products is a wholly owned subsidiary of Winn-Dixie, one of the largest retailers in the US.

The purchase includes an 11.64-acre land parcel and a 93,000ft² production and warehouse facility. The Gainesville-Deep South employees will become Schreiber employees.

“As Schreiber Foods’ first production facility in the Southeast, the Deep South acquisition is an important strategic platform for the company’s future,” said Ferguson. “It enhances our ability to serve customers throughout the southeastern United States and Caribbean. This acquisition anchors our ability to serve existing customers and expand our business in the region in the years ahead.”

“We see this as a win for both companies and the Deep South Associates,” said Rowland.
