Russian retailer Seventh Continent has seen its first half trade sales leap 34% compared to the same period last year. The group added that June 2008 sales were up 37%.
Sales growth in the hypermarket format for June 2008 reached 71% and 63% for the first half, the company said in an update today (16 July).
The growth in regional sales reached 70% year on year in June 2008 and the growth in regional sales for the first half reached 65%.
The retailer said that its June 2008 gross retail sales reached US$148m, up 37%. First half gross retail sales were US$882m, a 34% increase.
As of the end of June 2008 the company managed 137 stores, including 128 supermarkets and nine hypermarkets.
