Aotearoa Fisheries (AFL) has acquired family-owned fishing company Ocean Ranch.
AFL’s chief executive Jeremy Fleming told just-food that the purchase of Ocean Ranch consolidates a successful relationship between the parties. The acquisition is significant as it provides the supply base essential for future business growth.
According to Fleming, the two companies have operated a successful joint venture in the form of Palmerston North’s Prepared Foods when Ocean Ranch managed Aotearoa’s paua harvest.
The operations of the Ocean Ranch will remain unchanged after the takeover. Ocean Ranch managing director Antonios Focas and director Mark Janis will stay on after the acquisition takes effect on 1 October.
