The European Commission has set a deadline of 23 June for its inquiry into Rewe’s proposal to increase its stake in Austrian retailer Adeg.

Rewe, the Germany-based retailer, wants to increase its stake in Adeg to 75%.
“We currently hold almost a quarter of shares in the group. We are hopeful that clearance will be granted to increase our holding,” a Rewe spokesperson told just-food.
Rewe currently holds 24.9% of Adeg’s outstanding shares.
