Dutch dairy giant Campina is to plough EUR10m (US$15.5m) into boosting branded milk production at its site in the German city of Cologne.
Campina said it would focus on producing Landliebe and Campina Tuffi milk at the facility, which processes 350m kilos of milk a year.
However, the move will lead to the loss of 38 jobs at the site, which employs 379 people.
“Our strategic focus in Cologne will be on brands,” said Michael Feller, regional MD of Campina’s consumer products Europe division. “The production of brands will be restricted to daily fresh milk and quark in the future.”
