Clapham House, the owner of the Gourmet Burger Kitchen and Real Greek brands, has launched a range of supermarket burgers.
It is launching a Gourmet Burger Kitchen-branded range of Aberdeen Angus Patties in more than 60 Waitrose stores in the UK and through the Ocado website.
The fresh beef pattie is being sold in packs of two and four.
A spokesperson for the company said it would consider possible brand extensions such as a range of hamburger sauces and a “burger in a bag kit” depending on the success of the trial.
The company said it would look at the extensions as well as moving into other chains following the initial three month trial period.
“We’re enormously excited to be introducing this new retail aspect to the gbk business. It is a key growth area and one that will extend the gbk brand well beyond our current restaurant sites,” said Gourmet Burger Kitchen managing director David Sykes.
