United Natural booked net income of US$13m for the three months to 26 April, down from $13.7m a year earlier. The company’s revenue, however, rose 21% to $887m.
President and CEO Michael Funk said he was “confident” the Millbrook division would break even by the first quarter of the company’s fiscal 2009 period.
Funk said United Natural’s performance during its third quarter was “solid”.
“Despite operating in an environment of rising fuel and commodity prices, our growth was in line with our expectations, with solid growth across our sales channels,” he said.
