“The trend favours ready-to-eat healthy organic foods. Fewer consumers are cooking at home, and this trend is likely to continue in a market where there is a growing variety in health conscious ready-to-eat meals in Norway,” said Einar Risvik, director of research at Matforsk, Norway’s food research institute.

The report forecasts an 80% rise in the sale and consumption of organic meats and a 60% projected increase for organically farmed fish.

Companies specialising in organic-based ready meals can expect to see an annual growth of up to 30% in their revenues in the next decade, Matforsk said.
