US private equity firms Carlyle Group and CVC are among the bidders expressing interest in an auction for Pure Foods, according to reports.

The deal could fetch up to US$1bn for the unit of Philippine conglomerate San Miguel Corp, Reuters reported today (2 July).

Domestic food maker Universal Robina Corp is also understood to be bidding for the San Miguel unit.
