Lees Foods has posted a 15% increase in gross profits, driven by higher sales at its Lees of Scotland and Waverley Bakery units.

The company, which manufactures snowballs and macaroon bars, said gross profit increased to GBP5.8m (US$8.3m). Excluding exceptional items, pre-tax profits rose to GBP843,000, up from GBP379,000.

Sales rose 13% to GBP 18.2m in the year to end December and the company said that it was able to win new customers in Kuwait, France, the US and Australia.
