Dutch giant FrieslandCampina has announced plans to increase capacity at a plant in Vietnam to meet growing demand for a clutch of local products.

The company is looking to spend US$12m at its facility in Binh Duong, in the south-east of Vietnam.

The expansion was vital to meet higher demand for dairy products under the Dutch Lady, YoMost and Friso brands, FrieslandCampina said.

“We’ve reached the limit of our production level in the present factory. To meet the rising demand we need to increase capacity,” said Jan Bles, MD of FrieslandCampina Vietnam. “In the past three years sales grew by an average of 10% per year. Sales also showed robust growth in the first few months of this year.”
