Italy-based pasta group Barilla has launched a line of whole grain pasta in the US.

Barilla Whole Grain contains 51% whole wheat, the company said.

The pasta maker has teamed up with celebrity fitness coach Bob Greene to promote the pasta as a good source of fibre.

“With Barilla Whole Grain, my clients can easily get the fibre they need and most importantly, enjoy what they are eating,” Greene said.

The whole grain pasta will be available in four shapes –  Rotini, Penne, Spaghetti and Thin Spaghetti – and will be sold nationwide throughout the US.
