Ireland-based bakery and convenience food firm IAWS has hailed an “excellent start” to its financial year after seeing first-half profits jump 43%.
The company behind brands including Cuisine de France saw operating profit climb 43.4% to EUR82.2m (US$126.4m) during the six months to 31 January.
Revenue rose 34.5% to EUR1.1bn as a result of the company’s Lifestyle Food businesses in North American and Europe both delivering strong growth.
CEO Owen Killian said: “In an environment where food inflation has become a reality and economic conditions for consumers are changing, the Lifestyle Food business continues to see strong consumer demand across all channels for its always fresh and convenient offering.”
