US meat giant Tyson Foods is to create around 40 jobs at a chicken plant in Tennessee.

Tyson is spending almost US$5m to “upgrade” the facility in Shelbyville, including the addition of new processing equipment.

“We believe these improvements will make our operations more efficient and add flexibility to our production process,” said Wally Taylor, manager of Tyson’s Shelbyville poultry complex.
