According to a report in Russian business daily Kommersant today (5 January), Nestlé is believed to already be in talks with Snezhnyi Gorodok, a local distributor of Nestlé ice cream products.

The report comes a day after just-food reported Nestlé rival Unilever is to buy Russia’s largest ice cream business Inmarko.

However, a Nestlé spokesman remained tight-lipped on the rumours. “Nestlé will not comment,” he told just-food.

In November, Nestlé boosted its presence in Russia’s fast-growing confectionery sector with the acquisition of Ruzskaya Confectionery Factory.
