Unilever chief marketing officer Simon Clift will retire from the company after 30 years, the group has confirmed.
A spokesperson said that Clift had “decided it was time to move on” to spend more time with his family and pursue other “creative opportunities”. It is understood that Clift does not have another marketing role lined up.
Clift was Unilever’s first ever CMO. He was responsible for developing the food and consumer goods giant’s marketing strategy across a range of food and non-food brands.
Prior to assuming this role, he served as Unilever‘s chairman for personal care products in Latin America and as global marketing president.
A successor to Clift is yet to be named.
