French dairy processor Groupe Bel has opened its first factory in Vietnam.
Bel, which owns cheese brands including Babybel and The Laughing Cow, confirmed today (13 December) that the site, in the south-eastern province of Bunh Duong, opened on Thursday.
The company told just-food that the decision to open the plant was part of its strategy to internationalise the business.
Products made at the plant are destined for “local markets”, Bel said. The company declined to comment further, refusing to be drawn on the products made at the site or how much the project had cost.
