Hilton Foods Ireland, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Hilton Food Group, has announced plans to build a retail food packaging facility in Drogheda, County Louth, which will serve Tesco’s supermarket business throughout Ireland.

The Hilton Food Group plans to invest €10m (US$10.7m) in the proposed state-of-the-art packaging plant, which will eventually provide 200 jobs, reported the Belfast News Letter.
“The new Drogheda facility, for which the company has submitted a planning application, is a further strengthening of the long-standing supplier partnership that we have with Tesco,” said group chief executive, Robert Watson.
