The first deliveries will be made tomorrow (30 September) to customers in Philadelphia, Delaware and Southern Montgomery counties. Once an order is placed, groceries can be delivered as soon as the next day, the company said.

Ahold also announced that it would offer Peapod Mobile a free mobile app that contains the company’s “most convenient shopping features”.

“Giant Food Stores is very happy to be offering delivery service as another shopping option to our customers in Philadelphia,” said Giant Food Stores president Rick Herring. “Just like Giant, Peapod will provide a wide selection of well-priced, top quality and fresh products but with the ease of Internet shopping and delivery.”
