Biotech corn now accounts for 38% of all corn planted in the US, while biotech cotton accounts for around 70% of all US cotton plantings, reported USA Today.


Most of the biotech soybean crop is genetically modified to resist herbicides such as Monsanto’s Roundup. Biotech varieties of corn and cotton are designed to produce insecticide or resist herbicide or both.
