Danone’s US subsidiary, Dannon, has revealed plans to invest US$88m in a yoghurt facility in Ohio.

The announcements follow the announcement of a series of incentives and grants from Ohio to support Dannon’s development in the state.

Dannon said the three-year incentives and grants include credits for job creation, funding for training and reimbursement for investments in equipment, of around US$1m. It said that up to 100 jobs may be created as a result of the tax-credit.

Dannon said the Ohio plant is its largest manufacturing facility in the country and employs 400 people. The site manufactures products under brands including Dannon, Activia, Oikos and Light and Fit.
