Japanese c-store retailer FamilyMart has reported an increase in quarterly sales and profits.
FamilyMart posted second-quarter net income of JPY12.71bn (US$162.2m) for the three months to the end of August, up from JPY7.66bn a year earlier. Operating income was JPY25.9bn, against JPY24.59bn.
The retailer said gross operating revenue was JPY172.05bn, a 2.7% increase on the year.
FamilyMart reported it had 21,222 stores across six countries. It revealed it had 746 outlets in Thailand at the end of August. Last month, it sold a majority stake in its Thai business to local retail giant Central Retail Corp.
