Tesco has appointed Tony Hoggett as managing director of the retailer’s superstore format stores in the UK.
The company told just-food today (1 June) that he was previously chief operating officer in Turkey, and before that was regional managing director in China.

He will largely replace David Woodfield who was operations director of Tesco’s superstores in the South, who has decided to retire.
The moves are part of the retailer’s plans to revitalise its UK business following the retailer’s results in April where chief executive Philip Clarke said the division “can do better”.
