French retailer Casino has said the executive managing director of its Supermarchés division has left the company.

A spokesperson for the retailer confirmed the departure of Jean Rubens to just-food today (11 September) but could not give reasons for the exit.

He was appointed to the position in December 2009 from his position as marketing director of Casino Group and prior to that marketing director of the supermarkets unit.

André Lucas, managing director of Casino hypermarkets and supermarkets, will take on the role while the company conducts a recruitment search for a successor.
