Indian food group Himalya International and US agribusiness giant JR Simplot are to form a venture to market products including french fries and snacks in India.

The two companies have signed a “memorandum of understanding” to form the venture, Himalya said on Monday (23 May).

The venture will begin with the marketing of “Himalya’s frozen french fries, breaded and battered appetisers and snacks”, the Indian firm explained.

JR Simplot will provide “technical assistance for growing speciality potatoes and the processing of all products”, Himalay added.
