A second tomato distributor has recalled grape tomatoes produced by Florida grower Six L’s due to the risk of salmonella contamination.

Ontario firm Mastronardi Produce said today (5 May) that some of its products are associated with the recall by Six L’s. Mastronardi is recalling vine grape tomatoes, sunset grape tomatoes and Trader Joe’s Splendido Little Tomatoes distributed in Aldi-owned supermarket chain Trader Joe’s.

Tainted tomato products were distributed in 20 US states including North Carolina, Florida and California, as well as Canada.

Safeway also extended its voluntary recall yesterday to include fresh kebabs made with grape tomatoes supplied by Taylor Farms and sourced from grower Six L’s sold in its full-service meat counter in several states.
