US organic food producer Horizon Organic has named Don Gaidano vice president of international and corporate development.

Gaidano had previously served as chief financial officer at Horizon Organic in the US and relocated in 2000 to serve as managing director of Rachel’s Organic, Horizon Organic’s UK-based brand, to head up expansion into Europe. Since then, he has led the development and growth of Rachel’s Organic in the UK.
In Gaidano’s new role he will be responsible for overseeing current operations in the UK and Japan, leading Horizon Organic’s expansion into Europe and Asia, and heading up corporate development efforts that include identifying significant new business opportunities, the company said.
Gaidano’s previous position at Rachel’s Organic in the UK will be filled by Neil Burchell who will serve as the new mnaging drector responsible for all UK operations. He is currently the company’s mrketing drector and will assume his new role in the beginning of September when Don Gaidano returns to the US.
