Eroski has said it is looking to achieve “major” supermarket openings in the Balearics as it added to its franchise network with a store opening this week.
The Spanish cooperative retailer opened a 700sq m store in Mallorca under its Aprop franchise banner. The opening forms part of a network of franchise stores on the island of Mallorca where the retailer now operates 14 stores under the Aprop and Onda banners.
The opening, Eroski said, also forms part of its expansion plan on the Balearic islands where the retailer operates 137 stores under the Eroski City and Center banners and 72 under its franchise network of Aprop and Onda stores.
The retailer recently inaugurated two Aprop franchise stores in Mallorca, one in Alcudia Mar and one in Son Serra Marina.
Eroski said it is looking to achieve “major” supermarket openings in the Balearics in the coming years, although it did not give a figure on how many it is targeting.
The stores sell a range of fresh produce, in particular fruit, vegetables, meat, pastries and fish.
