Finnish food producer Raisio is to pull the plug on its loss-making margarine production unit in Sweden, concentrating its operations instead in Finland and Poland.

A statement posted on the company on its website read: “The intention … is to concentrate the margarine production to Finland and Poland by early 2003.”
Raisio explained that the closure would mean that it incurs a €5m (US$4.6m) restructuring cost, however the move will improve its group bottom line.
