US cereal maker Malt-O-Meal has changed its corporate name to MOM Brands to reflect the company’s expanding cold cereal business and its growing brand portfolio.

The corporate rebranding, the company said yesterday (20 February), is part of its growth strategy and the new name will serve as “an overarching name and identity” to house all of its brands.

However, while the corporate name is changing, all individual brands and product names will remain the same, the company said.

“Malt-O-Meal will continue to be a brand name we sell, but it will no longer be our company name,” said MOM Brands chairman and CEO Chris Neugent. “We’re not the same company we were ten years ago, and we wanted a name to reflect the company we’ve grown to be. MOM Brands is a great platform for all of our brands.”

He added: “Our new corporate identity is a better fit for the wide range of products that we now offer.”

In August last year, the cereal maker entered Canada for the first time with the launch of its Sally’s brand.
