Premier Foods plc has rolled out Bisto gravy sachets to encourage those eating as a pair to use gravy.

The UK food manufacturer has launched a four-line range of gravies under the Bisto Chef’s Specials brand.

“The two person weekday and weekend evening meal occasions are also showing growth at up 17% and up 7% respectively, representing a clear sales opportunity for retailers with 2.5bn gravy-suitable meals are currently being eaten without the perfect accompaniment of gravy,” Helen Touchais, Premier’s flavourings and seasonings brand director, said. “We believe the sachets can help to slow the decline that is currently being experienced in the gravy sachets category.”

Bisto Chef’s Specials come in a 25g sachet for GBP0.89 (US$1.32).
