Masters, who joined Asda in 2009 from First Quench Retailing, has left his role as retail development director amid a shake-up of its property team.

Asda has decided to run its property team on a regional basis instead of by store format, a spokesperson confirmed.
Meanwhile, Simpson, director of sustainable development at Asda, has also left the business. A decision has not been made on whether to replace Simpson, who has spent 18 years at the retailer.
In September, Asda revealed head of brand marketing Simon Eyles had been appointed marketing director at Taylor’s of Harrogate. In June, COO Simon King and marketing director Jon Owen left the business.
