Belgian food group PinguinLutosa has changed its name following the disposal of its potato business Lutosa last year.

The company said it will now be known as Greenyard Foods, a name that it says underlines the international nature of the group and its future growth strategy.

The new name is accompanied by a new mission: “Greenyard Foods International is a leading processor of fresh vegetables and fruits in food healthy, tasty and long shelf life.”

The company said it will continue to grow in terms of turnover and profitability and will continue to invest in improving the efficiency of its existing production facilities. This will involve continuing its strategy of acquiring production facilities where possible, it said.

“The new name emphasises the strategy of the group to grow by focusing on processing and marketing of fruit, vegetables and ready-to-use in frozen (Penguin division) and canned (Noliko division),” the company said. “With this name change, it emphasises the group’s ambition to pursue its growth strategy putting its focus on the processing and marketing of vegetables, fruit, frozen ready meals and canned.
