Confectionery giant Ferrero has named company veteran Pieraldo Oldano as the new managing director of its operations in the UK and Ireland.
Oldano will be relocating to the UK after spending the last 27 years in various roles with the Italian group, which produces brands like Tic Tac, Ferrero Rocher and Kinder.
His most recent role was brand president for Nutella at the group’s research and development unit in Italy. Previous to this, between 1999 and 2005, Oldano held the roles of managing director for Ferrero Belgium and Netherlands.
He will replace Christian Walter, who has held the role since 2009. Walter has been promoted to president of Ferrero’s pralines business.
In October, Walter said Ferrero was considering plans for UK production because of transport costs.
Last year, Walter said the company is looking to double its sales in the UK over the next five years to GBP400m (US$640m).
