US regional retailer The Fresh Market has promoted Sean Crane to the position of COO.
Crane has been senior vice president for store operations at The Fresh Market for five years after moving from a role as SVP for real estate and development. He joined the retailer in 2000 as corporate controller.
President and CEO Craig Carlock said yesterday (5 January): “In a variety of positions and for over eleven years, Sean has contributed handsomely to our growth and our operating performance. He brings a tremendous understanding of our concept and values to this new position.”
The Fresh Market has decided not to appoint an executive to become senior vice president for store operations, with Crane keeping those responsibilities and also now being in charge of merchandising and marketing.
Marc Jones, the retailer’s senior vice president for merchandising and marketing, will now report to Crane, rather than Carlock.
Last month, The Fresh Market raised its forecast for annual profits despite a fall in third-quarter earnings.
