Kraft Foods Group is expanding its offering of deli meats under the Oscar Mayer brand with the introduction of the Old World Style range, a line of Italian-style meats.

Old World Style includes four flavours: classic salami, cracked black pepper salami, classic pepperoni and turkey pepperoni. All four varieties are available at grocery stores throughout the US in a four-ounce package with an SRP of US$3.29.

The company said the launch aims to capitalise on growing demand for internationally-inspired sandwich products.

“There’s no doubt that Italian-style sandwiches are gaining popularity, on restaurant menus and at home,” said Tom Bick, senior director of integrated marketing and advertising at Oscar Mayer. “We want to help food fans revamp their brown-bag-lunch routines, and the Old World Style meats offers an authentic option for the whole family to enjoy.”

Kraft added the range meets consumer demand for high-protein products, with up to eight grams of protein per serving.
