Australian rice firm SunRice has said an acquisition of Blue Ribbon Rice Group’s milling assets will boost its own supply of “speciality” lines.
SunRice has struck a deal to buy a rice milling and packaging plant in north Queensland for an undisclosed sum.
The transaction is subject to competition clearance but SunRice said the acquisition would “strengthen our ability to successfully target premium, niche export markets”.
The move would “further diversify and increase the resilience of our earnings”, it added.
