Finnish food retailer Spar Finland has reported sales for January 2003 down 2.1% year-on-year to €43.5m (US$47.0m).

Spar Finland, which is majority-owned by Swedish retailer Axfood, said comparable store sales for January fell by 1.8% year-on-year.
The company reported sales for 2002 of €604.3m, down 1.6% compared to 2001.
