Hungarian retail chain Tesco Global, a subsidiary of the UK’s biggest retailer Tesco, is the most popular retail chain in Hungary, according to Hungarian market researcher GfK Piackutato.

Hungarian food retailer Penny Market, a subsidiary of German retailer Rewe, was named as the second most popular chain, while Hungarian retail group Coop was placed third.
Tesco employs more than 10,000 people in Hungary and its 26 hypermarkets are open 24 hours a day, reported the Hungarian News Digest.
