
UAE-based supermarket chain Choithrams has announced a strategic partnership with Tesco that will see it carry Tesco-branded ranges in its stores throughout the country.
Choithram has over 31 supermarkets across the seven emirates and has expanded Gulf-wide into Bahrain, Oman and Qatar.
A spokesperson for the firm confirmed to just-food the deal will see Choithrams bring “a number of the Tesco branded ranges to their stores across the UAE.”
Choithrams could not share further details until the official launch, which will take place next week.
Choithrams supermarkets are part of the T.Choithram and Sons Group, which was established in 1944 in Sierra Leone.
The group has a presence in Europe, North America, Africa and the Gulf. It is a private business that also funds and manages a group of schools and hospitals in India and west Africa.
