US district judge R Allan Edgar dismissed 15 charges, agreeing with Tyson’s defence attorneys that the prosecution had failed to prove that the company or any managers had requested two deliveries of illegal workers from undercover agents posing as smugglers, reported the Associated Press.
Tyson and some former managers were accused of hiring illegal immigrants in order to cut costs and boost production and profits.
Tyson’s attorneys begun late last week to present the case for the defence, which they say will take two weeks.
